The Brookwood Broncos will venture away from home to challenge the Duluth Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brookwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Duluth likes a good challenge.
On Friday, Brookwood didn't have too much trouble with Peachtree Ridge as they won 45-27. The Broncos pushed the score to 35-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lions cut but never quite recovered from.

Brayden Tyson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 210 yards and four scores while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in October of 2024. Gary Chatman was another key player, throwing for 205 yards and one touchdown on only 15 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brookwood was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 335 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 160 rushing yards in five consecutive contests.
Another reason for the win was Brookwood's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. Daniel Diggs was another major factor on D, making ten total tackles (2.0 for loss) and defending three passes.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Duluth challenged Parkview on Friday. The Wildcats took a 42-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Wildcats gained 184 more yards on the day, but it was the Panthers that made the best use of them.
Brookwood will have to contain Demarcus Rogers as he made an impact in Duluth's last game. He rushed for 198 yards and one TD on only ten carries. Duluth is 2-1 when Rogers posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 2-3 otherwise. Jahmir Joseph also helped out as he racked up 102 rushing yards.
Duluth's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Brookwood, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Brookwood has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 200.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Duluth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 223.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Brookwood was able to grind out a solid win over Duluth when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 43-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
