South County is 9-1 against Woodson since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Stallions will welcome the Cavaliers at 7:15 p.m. Both teams beat their previous opponents by a single goal, so this matchup might be just as contested.

While South County's win against Wakefield wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Stallions had just enough and edged out the Warriors 2-1 last Thursday. Given South County's advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 76th, while Wakefield are ranked 220th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Woodson ultimately got the result they hoped for last Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Langley.

Woodson pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three contests. As for South County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.

South County took their win against Woodson in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Stallions repeat their success, or do the Cavaliers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
