2A Region 7 recap December 3, 2013
Bassfield added to the longest winning streak in 2A Region 7 this week by beating East Marion, 48-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
The Eagles lost to Bassfield 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Johnathan Abram was a bright spot for East Marion, as he threw for 81 yards and 2 touchdowns and ran for 40 yards in the loss.
Alvin Moore was the best running back in the league this week. In 6 carries, he ran for 115 yards as Lance Mancuso's team fell to Lance Mancuso's team. Teammate Rachaud Green added to the ground attack by rushing for 107 yards.
The Eagles' Abram and Kristopher Newson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Abram has thrown for 1,737 yards this season, while Newson has 23 catches for 642 yards. Trodrick Daniels from the Yellowjackets leads the league in rushing with 1,417 yards.
Bassfield led 2A Region 7 in scoring this week after putting up 48 points on East Marion. Moore ran for 115 yards in the win.
