Monsignor Pace is a perfect 6-0 against Brito since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Monsignor Pace Spartans will host the Brito Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Monsignor Pace is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
Last Thursday, Monsignor Pace was able to grind out a solid win over Palmetto, taking the game 6-1.
Daniel Fumero looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Rudy Marichal, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those RBI were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Yuniel Paredes, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brito ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out iMater Charter 3-2.
Victor Encarnacion looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in March of 2024.
At the plate, Brito's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hector Santos, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Monsignor Pace pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs over those games. As for Brito, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Monsignor Pace hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Brito struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Monsignor Pace took their victory against Brito when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1. Will Monsignor Pace repeat their success, or does Brito have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
