Natalye Debus made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kassidy Ramirez was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ariah Washington, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.
Canyon Hills was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Southwest EC put the hurt on Tri-City Christian with a sharp 7-1 win. Southwest EC might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Canyon Hills, Southwest EC also got a great game from a two-way player: Alexis Trujillo. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Trujillo was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaydence Wiewel, who fired off two home runs, four RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Sophia Sauceda was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Southwest EC is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Canyon Hills, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Canyon Hills hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Southwest EC struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
