Baseball Recap: Sickles Wins Going Away Against Wharton

With a playoff win on the line, Sickles rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Wharton Wildcats. The Gryphons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Jaden Nazar was incredible, firing off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jordan Yost, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Sickles was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wharton only posted a batting average of .217.

The win made it two in a row for Sickles and bumps their season record up to 25-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Wharton, their loss dropped their record down to 25-7.

Sickles will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wildcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
