Colbert County and Lauderdale County are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2022, but likely not for long. The Indians will venture away from home to face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Colbert County will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Colbert County had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Hamilton on Tuesday. The Indians blew past the Aggies 13-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Makayli Davis made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Colbert County got a massive performance out of Hallie Holland, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Bellah Hill, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.
Colbert County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Lauderdale County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Wilson.
Lauderdale County now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Colbert County, their record is now 32-4.
Colbert County was able to grind out a solid win over Lauderdale County when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 5-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
