On Saturday, the Sacred Heart Valkyries faced the Cooper Jaguars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Sacred Heart secured a 61-56 W over Cooper. The victory was familiar territory for Sacred Heart who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sacred Heart to victory, but perhaps none more so than Reagan Bender, who scored 21 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bender has scored all season. Another player making a difference was ZaKiyah Johnson, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Sacred Heart's win bumped their record up to 15-7. As for Cooper, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-4.
Sacred Heart's road trip will continue as they head out to face Butler at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Cooper, they will be playing at home against Simon Kenton at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
