The Villa Rica Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 55 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 63-55 to Central. While losing is never fun, Villa Rica can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 262nd, while Central is ranked 31st).
Central was led to victory by Max Young and Chace North. Young scored 15 points along with seven rebounds, while North scored 22 points. The match was North's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Martin, who scored five points along with five steals.
Villa Rica's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Central, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Villa Rica will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lithia Springs at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Central will be home for the holidays to greet Hampton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
