It was a good run, but the Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-39 walloping at the hands of Valley Christian. While losing is never fun, Rancho Solano Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 124th, while Valley Christian is ranked 27th).
Despite the defeat, Rancho Solano Prep saw an underclassman step up: Zoey Pozen scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. The match was Pozen's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Rancho Solano Prep's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Valley Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.
Rancho Solano Prep will head out on the road to face off against Highland Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Veritas Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
