After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Dr. Joaquin Garcia, the Lake Worth Trojans were happy to have found some success on Monday. They strolled past Inlet Grove with points to spare, taking the game 36-21. That's another feather in the cap for Lake Worth, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lake Worth was led to victory by Jocilynne Sweeney and Christina Bell. Sweeney scored nine points along with four steals, while Bell scored 15 points along with four steals. Sweeney is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracy Joseph, who scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Lake Worth's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. As for Inlet Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Worth will square off against Forest Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Inlet Grove won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against St. John Paul II Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. St. John Paul II Academy and Inlet Grove are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
