The Broomfield Eagles put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 48-36 win over Rangeview. Given Broomfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Rangeview is ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Broomfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Kim led the charge by scoring 13 points along with three steals. Kim is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Paige Gilpatrick, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Broomfield pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Rangeview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Broomfield will be home for the holidays to greet Dakota Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rangeview will be home for the holidays to greet Valor Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
