The East Central Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-46 to Gautier. East Central lost against Gautier in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-38 score last time.
East Central lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cartavious Myers, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Porter Martin, who scored ten points.
East Central's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-12. As for Gautier, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Wayne County the next time they take the court. Gautier will head out to face Wayne County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while East Central will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
