Evansville is 0-10 against Turner since April of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Trojans at 5:15 p.m. Evansville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Evansville came up short against Lodi and fell 8-3.
Brooklyn Maves and Summer Larson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Maves went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Larson went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Ross, who went 3-for-4 with one double.
Meanwhile, Turner faced Waupun in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Warriors 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since May 1, 2025.
Olyvia Piranio looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Maddy Hoenig was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. Maddyn Saunders was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Evansville's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Turner, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.
Both Evansville and Turner just can't seem to miss. The Blue Devils have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Turner struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Evansville might still be hurting after the 7-1 defeat they got from Turner in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
