Volleyball Recap: Grosse Pointe South Finds Home Court Redemption Against Dakota

There's no place like home for Grosse Pointe South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Dakota Cougars 3-0 on Thursday. The Blue Devils not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 17th (when they won 3-0).

Grosse Pointe South never let Dakota on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-19, 26-24.

Gabby DiVita paced Grosse Pointe South's offense, picking up 21 kills. DiVita got some help from Lucy Edwards and her 33 assists. DiVita was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Grosse Pointe South now has a winning record of 11-10-1. As for Dakota, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14-2 record this season.

After both having extra time off, Grosse Pointe South and Anchor Bay will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Dakota, they will head out on the road to face off against Yale at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
