Bluefield is 10-0 against PikeView since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Bluefield Beavers' road trip will continue as they head out to face the PikeView Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Bluefield will be strutting in after a win while PikeView will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Bluefield strolled past Mount View with points to spare, taking the game 68-49. Given Bluefield's advantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Mount View is ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
PikeView won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were beaten by Princeton 79-32. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points PikeView has scored all season.
Bluefield's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for PikeView, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Everything came up roses for Bluefield against PikeView in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 88-51 victory. Does Bluefield have another victory up their sleeve, or will PikeView turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
