Naperville North suffered a tough 66-45 loss at the hands of Downers Grove South on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Naperville North has suffered since December 11, 2023.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kendall Johnson, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Johnson posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Natalie Frempong, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Naperville North's defeat dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Downers Grove South, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
Naperville North will look to defend their home court on Friday against Neuqua Valley at 7:00 p.m. Neuqua Valley is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Downers Grove South won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Glenbard West at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Glenbard West presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Downers Grove South in Illinois (Glenbard West is ranked 35th, while Downers Grove South is ranked 157th).
