The Maiden Blue Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Patton Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Maiden has five straight wins, Patton has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Patton's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Monday: Maiden hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Blue Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand Bandys a 5-0 shutout on Friday.

Raegan Rembert made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Maddy Clontz was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Sydney Sigmon was another key player, earning two RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Friday. Patton came up short against Hibriten, falling 15-1. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, Patton couldn't push the score so high this time.
Patton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hayden Carlson, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Patton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Maiden, their record now sits at 10-8.
Patton's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Maiden has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Patton, though, as they've been averaging only 2.8 strikeouts. Will Maiden keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
Everything went Maiden's way against Patton when the teams last played last Thursday, as Maiden made off with a 9-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
