Marshall is 9-0-1 against Western since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Redhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Marshall had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Pennfield on Wednesday. The Redhawks' defense stepped up to hand the Panthers a 5-0 shutout. Marshall haven't had any issues with Pennfield recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Western duked it out with Coldwater on Wednesday. The Panthers were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Cardinals. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Western's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Coldwater are ranked 224th).

Marshall's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Western, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Marshall beat Western by a goal in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redhawks since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
