The Southeast Golden Buffalo's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 71-45 walloping at the hands of Northwest. While losing is never fun, Southeast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while Northwest is ranked 89th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Northwest to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jerome Henderson, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Benning, who scored 13 points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Southeast's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Northwest, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1.
Southeast will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Heights at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Northwest, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on East at 7:15 p.m. on December 15th.
