Softball Recap: Metamora's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Metamora had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it nine on Monday. They blew past the Limestone Rockets 11-1. The Redbirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Metamora pushed their record up to 18-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Limestone, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Metamora will challenge Dunlap at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Redbirds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Limestone, they will square off against Canton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Little Giants have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season.
