Start is 0-7 against Perrysburg since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will look to defend their home field against the Yellow Jackets at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Start has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Start took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past Lima Senior 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Start has posted since April 9, 2025.
Kolbe Roesner and Braydin Roesner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Roesner pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Meanwhile, Braydin struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Start is 3-1 when Braydin allows one or fewer earned runs, but 2-5 otherwise. At bat, Roesner went 1-for-5 with two RBI and one double, while Braydin went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Braydin has posted since back in May of 2025.

Brayden Heitmeyer made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Perrysburg now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Start, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Start might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Perrysburg in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Spartans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
