Graham took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Bluefield Beavers with a sharp 16-6 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the G-Men as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Graham let Stevie Sparks and Bella Kaklis run wild. Sparks scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Kaklis scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Riley Harvey was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Graham will challenge Council at 5:00 p.m. on March 28th. As for Bluefield, they will venture away from home to face off against Woodrow Wilson at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
