After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three contests, the Newbury Park Panthers finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They were outmatched by Sierra Canyon on the road and fell 88-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Newbury Park has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Newbury Park lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aayaan Ahmed. Despite the final result, he scored ten points.
Newbury Park's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Sierra Canyon, they pushed their record up to 14-1 with that victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
Newbury Park's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oaks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Sierra Canyon and Pilibos will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Pilibos' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
