Even though the Heritage Christian Academy Warriors scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, the Dawson Springs Panthers still came out on top. Dawson Springs walked away with a 68-58 win over Heritage Christian Academy. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Dawson Springs also won the last time the pair played back in February.
Dawson Springs was led to victory by Rex Blue and Montgomery Johnston. Blue scored 23 points along with 9 rebounds and 6 assists, while Johnston scored 21 points along with 8 rebounds and 8 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Johnston has scored at least 25% of Dawson Springs' points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaybird Plunkette, who scored 12 points.
Despite the loss, Heritage Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jason Leek, who scored 25 points along with 7 assists. The matchup was Leek's third in a row with at least ten points. Cash Bolinger was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Dawson Springs now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dawson Springs will take on Apollo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Hopkins County Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
