Oakes faced Northern Cass in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Tornadoes took  a  25-7 bruising from the Jaguars.  Northern Cass' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Parker Zieske led the charge by rushing for 116 yards, while also picking up 49 receiving yards and one  TD. Those  116  rushing yards gave  Zieske a new career-high.  Brooks Crockett was another key player, gaining 134 total yards and a touchdown.
Oakes' loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Northern Cass, the  victory was  the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

Meanwhile, Northern Cass will  take on  rival Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  points on average (the Jaguars 11.4, Ellendale/Edgeley/Kulm 7.7) so any  points scored will be well earned.
