Eastern Hancock has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Morristown Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Eastern Hancock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
A well-balanced attack led Eastern Hancock over Riverside in every quarter on their way to victory. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Eastern Hancock blew Riverside out of the water with a 69-33 final score. Eastern Hancock pushed the score to 56-23 by the end of the third, a deficit Riverside had no chance of recovering from.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastern Hancock to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kayden Ruble, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ruble has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Charlie Halcomb, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Morristown's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight loss. The game between them and Alexandria-Monroe wasn't particularly close, with Morristown falling 62-45.
Despite the defeat, Morristown had strong showings from Kellen Crim, who scored 13 points along with four steals, and Mathew Carlton, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Snyder, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Eastern Hancock now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Morristown, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-15.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Eastern Hancock have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 28.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Morristown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.5 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything came up roses for Eastern Hancock against Morristown in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 75-28 win. With Eastern Hancock ahead 49-18 at the half, the game was all but over already.
