Willow Spring's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 14-0 margin over Southeast Raleigh. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.
Georgia Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Miller was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

In other batting news, Abby Howard was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Howard is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Carly Simon, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double.
Willow Spring always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, South Garner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Clayton, falling 17-4.
South Garner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chyenne Epps, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one RBI. Kimmya Leach was another, scoring a run and stealing Two bases.
South Garner's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Willow Spring, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
South Garner's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Willow Spring has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.6 hits per game. It's a different story for South Garner, though, as they've been averaging 11.4 hits. Given Willow Spring's sizable advantage in that area, South Garner will need to find a way to close that gap.
Willow Spring took their victory against South Garner in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-1. Will Willow Spring repeat their success, or does South Garner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
