2A Olympic recap October 1, 2013
Olympic was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in 2A Olympic. Earlier in the week, the Trojans defeated Port Angeles 46-6.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, North Mason beat Bremerton 44-7. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Miguel Moroles threw for 255 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Brett Wright was the best receiver in the league this week as Sequim lost to North Kitsap. Wright tallied 6 receptions for 103 yards. Josiah Anastasi helped Sequim's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 106 yards.
The Wolves' Moroles and Wright have formed a dream team this season, leading 2A Olympic in both passing and receiving yards. Moroles has thrown for 720 yards this season, while Wright, a 5-foot-8 receiver, has 23 catches for 327 yards. Tommy Marsh from North Mason leads the league in rushing with 443 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place North Mason takes on second place Kingston. Jeff Bevers' team bested the Knights last week, while Kingston topped Klahowya.
