The Wilcox Chargers will head out on the road to square off against the Saratoga Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wilcox will be strutting in after a win while Saratoga will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, Wilcox kept a clean sheet against Cupertino. They blew past the Pioneers 3-0. Given Wilcox's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 239th, while Cupertino is ranked 495th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wilcox hit Cupertino with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from
Jacob Aguirre,
Pavan Nawbatt, and
Sean Odle.
Meanwhile, Saratoga's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cupertino.
Wilcox's win bumped their record up to 10-5-2. As for Saratoga, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9-1.
Wilcox beat Saratoga 2-0 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilcox since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
