T.W. Andrews is 5-0 against the Panthers since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The T.W. Andrews Red Raiders will be staying on the road to face off against the Morehead Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in T.W. Andrews' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
T.W. Andrews can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past West Stokes 63-20 on the road. Given T.W. Andrews' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Wildcats are ranked 512th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
T.W. Andrews can attribute much of their success to Janiya Milligan, who scored 14 points along with three steals, and Sanai' Johnson, who scored 18 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephany Stafford, who scored six points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Morehead had to suffer through a rough 46-19 loss at the hands of the Phoenix. Morehead has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
T.W. Andrews' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Morehead, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
Everything came up roses for T.W. Andrews against the Panthers in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 61-17 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for T.W. Andrews since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
