The Pensacola Christian Academy Warriors posted their closest victory yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Northview 47-44. The win made it back-to-back wins for Pensacola Christian Academy.
Pensacola Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Mateus Moreira, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moreira has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Michael Day, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Northview lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luke Diamond, who scored 18 points. Diamond continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. JACOB SPENCE was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Pensacola Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Northview, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Laurel Hill the next time they take the court. Pensacola Christian Academy will head out to face Laurel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Northview will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
