Peninsula - Ocean recap October 8, 2013
Burlingame extended the longest winning streak in Peninsula - Ocean this week by beating Jefferson, 54-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Panthers.
Burlingame moved up to 298 from 326 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. John Philipopoulos' team was able to move up by beating the Indians 54-6.
Avery Gindraux threw for 97 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Josh Holman was the best receiver in the league this week as Woodside lost to Sacred Heart Prep. Holman tallied 6 receptions for 70 yards. Mitchell Cockrum helped Woodside's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 54 yards.
The Wildcats' Robert Wang and Holman led Peninsula - Ocean in both passing and receiving yards. 5-9 quarterback Wang has thrown for 716 yards this season, while Holman has 20 catches for 314 yards. San Mateo's Line Latu leads the league in rushing yards with 473.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Aragon takes on Capuchino. The Dons are in second place, while the Mustangs are in fifth place.
The Panthers took down Jefferson 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Gindraux during the win.
