The Pike Valley Panthers lost against the Thunder Ridge Longhorns back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Pike Valley took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Thunder Ridge.
Pike Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Breanna Reeves, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Raelyn Bolte, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.
Kamryn Rietzke continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Thunder Ridge, scoring 29 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rietzke has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Starla Cochrun, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Pike Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Thunder Ridge, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Pike Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Thunder Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Thunder Ridge, they will head out on the road to take on Hill City at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Hill City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six last Tuesday.
