Softball Recap: Canyon Lake Has No Trouble Against Chaparral

On Friday, everything went Canyon Lake's way against the Chaparral Bobcats as Canyon Lake made off with an 11-1 win.

Canyon Lake let Cheyenne Fields and Liza Schexneyder run wild. Fields scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Schexneyder scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-3. Fields is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Braelyn Rice, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Canyon Lake hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaparral struck out nine times.

Canyon Lake's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Chaparral, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon Lake will head out to square off against Llano at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chaparral, they will challenge West at 6:00 p.m. on March 14th.
