United had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the United South Panthers with a sharp 28-3 victory. Considering the Longhorns have won three contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

United's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jorge Luna, who threw for 230 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 50 yards. The Longhorns also got help from Colt Lozano, who showed off his sure hands for 108 receiving yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to United's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Alveyen Alfaro, Moy Montemayor, and Jorge Robles, who each picked up one sack apiece. United got some further help from Rola San Miguel: he made 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and snagged an interception.

United's record now sits at 4-1. As for United South, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coincidentally, United and United South will both be playing Del Rio the next time they take the field. The Longhorns will host the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th.
