Red Mountain and Desert Vista are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but likely not for long. The Red Mountain Mountain Lions will take on the Desert Vista Thunder at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Red Mountain's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Sunnyslope as Red Mountain made off with a 10-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountain Lions.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hagen Wright, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one triple while going 3-for-4. That's the most home runs he has posted since back in March of 2024. Wyatt Bundy was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Red Mountain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunnyslope only posted an OBP of .292.
Meanwhile, Desert Vista put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Arizona College Prep by a score of 9-5.
Cole Gomez looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Noah Gutierrez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Jayden Garrison, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Saturday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Red Mountain hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Desert Vista struggles in that department as they've averaged .385. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Red Mountain couldn't quite finish off Desert Vista in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 and fell 4-2. Can Red Mountain avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
