3A District 4 recap Oct. 9, 2012
First Academy extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 4 this week by beating Trinity Prep, 49-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
Holy Trinity Episcopal moved up to 356 from 400 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of a 16-6 win over Neumann.
Fletcher Magee and Lloyd Hylton gave First Academy a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Magee threw for 55 yards and two touchdowns, while Hylton ran for 117 yards. Teammate Colton Plante added to the ground attack by rushing for 41 yards.
Brandon Ziarno provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Melbourne Central Catholic bested Orangewood Christian. He completed 11 passes for 159 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 14 yards. Ziarno's favorite target this week was Will Erdman, who caught two passes for 57 yards.
The Hustlers' Ziarno and Kyle Taylor have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Ziarno has thrown for 1170 yards this season, while Taylor, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 17 catches for 270 yards. Leroy Kinard's team's Hylton leads the league in rushing yards with 662.
Holy Trinity Episcopal made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,121 from 8,624. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 16-6 victory over the Celtics last week.
