The Poolesville Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Clarksburg Coyotes at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Poolesville took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They never let Seneca Valley get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. The Falcons haven't had any issues with the Screaming Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Sawyer Thompson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sam Lewis, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Justin Pawlowski was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Poolesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Seneca Valley only posted an OBP of .211.
Clarksburg not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 21st (when they won 29-0). They blew past Seneca Valley 24-5.
The win got Poolesville back to even at 7-7. As for Clarksburg, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 4-9.
Poolesville got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 against Clarksburg by a conclusive 15-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Falcons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
