The Sequoia Charter Stallions will venture away from home to  square off against the Ajo Red Raiders  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Sequoia Charter knows how to get  runs on the board -- the  team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Ajo likes a good challenge.
Sequoia Charter will bounce into Monday's   game after  beating Thunderbird Adventist Academy, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Stallions put the hurt on Thunderbird Adventist Academy with a sharp  12-6 win on Wednesday. The Stallions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six  runs or more this season.

 Naomi Sams was a  major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out 14 batters over  five innings while giving up  six earned runs off   five  hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of her plate appearances with one  triple and one  run.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Reyna Chavez, who  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with one  run and one  RBI.  Romina Caro also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
 Ajo couldn't beat Paradise Valley Christian Prep  on Wednesday even though they stacked seven runs on them in the first inning. The Red Raiders lost  28-8 to the Panthers. The Red Raiders' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
 Ajo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Sequoia Charter,  the  victory  got them back to even at 4-4.
 Sequoia Charter suffered a grim  14-4 defeat to Ajo  when the teams last played  back in March of 2024. Can the Stallions avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
