In what's become a running theme this season, the Turpin Cardinals gave their fans yet another huge win on Monday. They put the hurt on Boise City with a sharp 73-48 win. Given Turpin's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 171st, while the Wildcats are ranked 370th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bryson Parker was his usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jhett Huffman, who scored 18 points.
Turpin has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season. As for Boise City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Turpin will square off against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Boise City, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bison at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Balko is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.
