Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Isabella Mustangs walked away with it. They took their matchup on the road on Thursday with ease, bagging a 44-17 victory over St. Luke's Episcopal. Considering Isabella has won six games by more than 19 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Isabella's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elijah Kendrick led the charge by rushing for 140 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Kendrick was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. Dre'von Lee was another key contributor, rushing for 117 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
St. Luke's Episcopal's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeremy Menhennett, who rushed for 26 yards and a touchdown, and Brody Hale who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
The victory (which was Isabella's fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2. As for St. Luke's Episcopal, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Isabella is on the road again on November 17th and play against Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. St. Luke's Episcopal does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
