Even though the Boardman Spartans have not done well against the Poland Seminary Bulldogs recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Boardman blew past Poland Seminary 59-37. For Boardman, this counts as revenge for the 51-48 defeat Poland Seminary walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Leading Boardman to victory were Samantha Duble and Mackenzie Riccitelli. Duble scored 19 points along with 3 steals, while Riccitelli scored 23 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. The contest was Riccitelli's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mary catherine Werth, who scored 2 points along with 6 steals.
Boardman's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Poland Seminary, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Boardman will be home for the holidays to greet Marlington at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Poland Seminary, they will head out on the road to face off against Hubbard at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hubbard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Poland Seminary is ranked 159th).
