Conner Ely and Kyle Leoffler provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Hi-Plains. The connection was good for 55 yards, the longest such play in A-6 Central (6 Man) this season.
The Patriots extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Arickaree, 32-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
The Indians' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ely threw for 65 and one touchdown and Leoffler had 55 yards receiving. On the ground Leoffler chipped in 158 yards. Tarek Thompson helped Arickaree's passing attack out by catching one ball for 10 yards.
Ondrej Mastalir made the biggest impact on defense this week as Otis topped Idalia. The 5-foot-8 junior grabbed 1.0 sack.
Hi-Plains' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Clayton Cordell has thrown for 623 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Justin Miltenberger has 17 catches for 286 yards. Alex Nelson leads the league in rushing with 936 yards.
Dave Sheffield's team's Nelson needs only 64 yards against the Wolves next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in A-6 Central (6 Man) this week will be when the Patriots take on Idalia. At the moment, Hi-Plains is in first, while Kyle Kite's team is in fifth.
The Bulldogs took down the Wolves 53-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tanner Pflager ran for 50 yards and caught one passes for 53 yards in the win.
