Show Low is 2-8 against the Lobos since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Show Low Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Snowflake Lobos at 7:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Preston Power and Asher Brewer.
After a string of three wins, Show Low's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. Their rough 75-51 defeat to Holbrook might stick with them for a while.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Nash Brewer, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Power, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Snowflake narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Wildcats 57-54. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Snowflake.
Show Low's loss dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Snowflake, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Show Low skirted past the Lobos 72-70 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for Show Low since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
