The Westfield Shamrocks entered their tilt with the Zionsville Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Westfield took down Zionsville 59-40 on Friday. For Westfield, this counts as revenge for the 43-40 loss Zionsville walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2022.
Westfield's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nic Book, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. Charles Farrell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Zionsville still got an impressive performance from Maguire Mitchell, who scored 22 points. Mitchell scored a full 55% of Zionsville's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Snively, who scored 9 points.
Westfield's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Zionsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westfield will take on Guerin Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Guerin Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 202 points over their last three matches. As for Zionsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Lawrence Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
