Volleyball Recap: Northwood Academy Starts off Right with Win over St. John's Christian Academy

Northwood Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the St. John's Christian Academy Cavaliers.

Northwood Academy never let St. John's Christian Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-12, 25-20.

Leading Northwood Academy to victory were Camacho Melanney and Williams Grace. Melanney had six aces and five assists, while Grace had six digs and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Northwood Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 24 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Looking ahead, Northwood Academy will head out on the road to take on John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for St. John's Christian Academy, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Pinewood Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
