There's no place like home for the Haddonfield Bulldawgs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 40-27 win over Sterling on Thursday. Given Haddonfield's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Sterling is ranked 173rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sterling's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erin Quinn, who scored ten points along with two steals. That was a full 37% of Sterling's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Haddonfield's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3. As for Sterling, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
Haddonfield will face off against Rancocas Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Haddonfield is facing Rancocas Valley at the right time seeing as Rancocas Valley is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sterling, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Gateway Regional at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th.
