Monte Vista Christian put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They blew past Soledad 63-38.
Monte Vista Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Ryan, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 13 times he's played. Angel Martinez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Monte Vista Christian's lineup was just a bit different on Thursday as Aarush Nalawadi got a bit more time on the court (31 vs. his season average of 9.54). Nalawadi made the most of the opportunity, scoring nine points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, Greenfield came tearing into Thursday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past King City 67-28 on the road.
Monte Vista Christian has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Greenfield, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-14.
Monte Vista Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Greenfield in their previous meeting back in January, winning 57-49.
