The Rock Canyon Jaguars had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.1 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Tuesday. They breezed by Douglas County at home to the tune of 60-19. Rock Canyon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Brooke Harding was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Alyssa Goode was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists and five steals.
Peighton Lemp and Sofia Baldessari certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Lemp scored nine points along with five rebounds, while Baldessari scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Baldessari is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
Rock Canyon pushed their record up to 13-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Rock Canyon will head out on the road to face off against Regis Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Regis Jesuit has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Douglas County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against ThunderRidge at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully ThunderRidge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday.
